Course Overview
This course covers a variety of Quranic stories and is not limited to the stories of the prophets only. Stories of righteous figures such as the story of Maryam, the people of the cave (Ahlul Kahf), and Dhul-Qarnayn are studied, as well as stories of perished figures such as Fir’awn, Qarun, and the people of the Sabbath (As-hab us-Sabt), in addition to symbolic stories such as the story of the two sons of Adam, and the story of the owners of the garden (As-hab al-Jannah).
The curriculum of the Quranic Stories course is distinguished by its focus on the Quranic presentation style, and how the Quran mentions a part of the story in one Surah and then completes it in another Surah for a specific rhetorical purpose. Each story is analyzed to extract the creedal, moral, and educational benefits from it. Studying Quranic Stories opens a new window for the student to contemplate the book of Allah.
