Course Overview
This course covers in a practical and sequential manner all the stages related to death. The explanation begins with what should be done when a person is dying, then moves on to how to wash and shroud the deceased step by step, explaining the differences between a man and a woman. It then deals in detail with how to perform the funeral prayer (Salat al-Janazah) and what is recited in it.
After that, the Fiqh of Funerals explains the Shari’ah etiquettes for carrying the bier and following it, the correct method of burial, and what is said at the grave. The course concludes by stating the rulings of legitimate condolence, what is permissible and what is not permissible of actions, while warning against common innovations (Bid’ah) and violations in funerals.
