Course Overview
This course adopts a chronological and analytical approach, addressing the period of each Caliph separately. The explanation begins with how Abu Bakr al-Siddiq was chosen, the Ridda wars, and the compilation of the Quran. It then moves to the Caliphate of ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab, the establishment of the Diwans, and the major conquests in the Levant, Persia, and Egypt.
The Islamic History (Rightly Guided Caliphs) course then covers the Caliphate of ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan, the compilation of the ‘Uthmanic Mushaf, and then the Caliphate of ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib and the internal events that occurred during his reign. These events are analyzed objectively, with a focus on the political and administrative lessons learned from this golden era.
