What should I do during Arafa Day?
This is the most important day of the year. It may be a start for a turning point in your life.
So, what should I do?
Firstly, you should repent to Allah.
One sin may be the reason to prevent many good maters for you, so you have to start this day with asking Allah’s forgiveness.
Don’t forget that the best reports of deeds on the day of Judgement are the reports of those who always ask Allah’s forgiveness.
Secondly, do your best to preserve your vision and your hearing from doing any sins.
If you can spend that day in your home and the mosque or being engaged in doing good deeds, you will win with the forgiveness. The prophet said, “anyone who will control his ear and eye and his tongue, will win with forgiveness.”
Thirdly, fast the day of Arafa.
By Fasting the day of Arafa, Allah removes the sins of the previous year and the coming year.
Fourthly, do many remembrance (Dhikr)
The Prophet, peace, and blessings be upon him, said, “The best supplication is that which is made on the day of Arafa. The best of it is what was said by myself and the prophets before me:
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
“There is no God but Allah alone, without any partners, unto Him belong the dominion and all praise and He has power over all things.”
Fifthly, the Doua in general.
The prophet (peace be upon him) said “the best Doua is the Doua of the day of Arafa.”
Now do your plan for the Doua. Try to make Doua for every good matter for this world and the hereafter.
You can make categories in your Doua to avoid forgetting anything.
- Doua for Akhirah/ hereafter.
- Doua for Donia/ this world.
- Doua for whom you love.
