What is the Importance and benefit of memorizing the Quran?
1-The Quran achieves happiness for the human, spreads security and
tranquility and provides glory, prosperity, and safety. All this is achieved
through the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) Allah The
Almighty Says
(إِنَّ هَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ يَهۡدِي لِلَّتِي هِيَ أَقۡوَمُ وَيُبَشِّرُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ أَنَّ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٗا كَبِيرٗا )(الإسراء-٩)
{Indeed, this Quran guides to that which is most suitable and gives good tidings to the believers who do
righteous deeds that they will have a great reward.} [Al-Israa 17: 9]
and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“I have left among you two things you will never go astray as long
as you hold fast to them: The Book of Allah and my Sunnah.” [Al-Albaani: Hasan]
2-The Quran will Intercede for Us on the Day of Judgement Abu
Umaamah, may Allah be pleased with him, related that the Prophet
(PBUH) said: “Read the Quran, for indeed it will come on the Day
of Standing (Judgement) as an intercessor for its companions.” [Muslim]
3-One’s Position and Rank in Paradise is Determined by the Amount
of Quran He Memorized in this Life. ‘Abdullaah bin ‘Amr bin Al-‘Aas,
may Allah be pleased with him, heard the Prophet (PBUH) saying:
“It will be said to the companion of the Quran: ‘Read and elevate
(through the levels of Paradise) and beautify your voice as you
did when you were in the worldly life! For verily, your
position in Paradise will be at the last verse you recite.”
[Abu Daawood and At-Tirmithi]
4-A person who memorizes the whole Quran and acts upon it gets
many benefits he will get what is mentioned in the saying of the
Prophet (PBUH) “Whoever reads the Quran, memorizes it, and
acts upon it, on the Day of Judgment he will be clad (by angels)
with a crown of light, its light is like the sunlight and his parents
will be clad with two garments better than the whole world and
whatever it contains.”
So, they would amazingly ask: “What action did we do to deserve this?”
They will be told: “Because your son memorized the Quran”. [AlHaakim]
5-The Reciters of the Quran Will Be in the Company of the Noble and
Obedient Angels. ‘Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, related that
the Prophet (PBUH) said: “Indeed the one who recites the Quran
beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, will be in the company of
the noble and obedient angels. As for the one who
recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its
verses, then he will have twice that reward.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
6-The People of the Quran are from Best of people It was narrated
that Anas bin Malik said: “The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Allah has His
own people among mankind.’ They said: ‘O Messenger of Allah,
who are they?’ He said: ‘The people of the Qur’an, the people
of Allah and those who are closest to Him.” [Ahmad]
7-There are Ten Rewards for Every Letter Recited from the Quran that Prophet
Muhammad (PBUH) said: “The one who reads a single letter from the Book
of Allah will be rewarded with one good deed. (Know that) A good deed is
multiplied ten times over. I do not say Alif Laam Meem is one letter. Verily,
Alif is one letter, Laam is one letter, Meem is one letter.” [At-Tirmithi]
8-we would like to remind the reader with the following prophetic narration,
of Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (PBUH) said: “Any group of people that
assemble in one of the Houses of Allah to recite and study the Quran,
tranquility will descend upon them, mercy will engulf them,
angels will surround them and Allah will make mention of them
to those (the angels) in His proximity.” [Muslim].
9-So memorization of the Quran strengthen your memory, fasten your
progress in learning Arabic, give you a special rank in the society and so on.
